The first part of your speech should include a polite greeting and a warm welcome to the wedding guests. Remember to introduce yourself and to mention how you are related to the bride or to the groom. You may say something along these lines: “Ladies and gentlemen, I wish you all a pleasant afternoon! I know that some of you do not know who I am, and so for your benefit, I would like to introduce myself first. I am the bride’s favorite uncle, everyone! With that settled, please allow me to welcome you all in this joyous occasion!”
